Winter Back Pain Relief Tips

Winter has arrived! With colder temperatures and shorter daylight hours, back pain can occur and affect your daily life. The team at the Center for Spine Care offers these helpful tips to help keep your back pain away during the cold months. Grab a hot chocolate and read on! STAY WARM Wear several layers of clothing that can be removed easily if needed. Wear a hat that also covers your ears to keep your head warm. At bedtime, keep several blankets or an electric blanket on hand. The holiday season is upon us, and for many that means traveling near and far to celebrate with family and friends. For those of us with neck and back pain, travel = aggravating flare-ups. The Center for Spine Care team has come up with the following tips to help keep your season merry and bright: PLAN AHEAD If you’ve been neglecting your home exercise/stretching program, get back to it! Contact the airline/airport in advance to arrange for assistance if required. Ship holiday gifts/heavy packages ahead of time.   PACKING SMART Always use luggage with wheels. Check as much as possible upon arrival at the airport. Limit yourself to one small carry-on with necessities, and avoid using the over-head bin.
